Hi Everybody Nuggets From Down Under is located in the township of Mudgee, Central West Region of NSW. In 1851, the population of Mudgee was 200. However, the population exploded as the discovery of gold in nearby Hargraves by Edward Hargraves which led to a gold rush in New South Wales. While no gold was found in Mudgee itself, the town prospered as gold was discovered in nearby towns such as Gulgong, Hill End and Windeyer and temporarily reached populations of 20,000. Mudgee was a centre for the local goldfields and grew rapidly as a result. As the proprietors of Nuggets from Down Under, Lincoln and Kim, have spent the last five years detecting for gold as a living. Lincoln having over 25 years experience and Kim 8 years experience. They spent 18 months in the goldfields of Queensland then 3.5 years in Western Australia goldfields returning to Mudgee NSW and opening a prospecting store. Experience has given them sound knowledge of the Detectors and equipment which they now pass on to existing prospectors and new prospectors alike. The business is family orientated so daughter Kalya is also part of the team at Nuggets from Down Under. The store also caters for the Gold Panning, Sluicing and Coin & Relic hunting enthusiast with a wide selection of accessories for all aspects of prospecting.
